Project Management and Business Analysis
I bring solid research, analysis, and management competencies to all my projects. Analyzing and improving a workflow process or attending to team structure and dynamics can support informational and instructional goals. A problem may have a "simple" solution ("we need a self-paced e-learning course," "the user guides need updating") or may have a complex solution ("performance is down in this department; we need an integrated solution that includes new software, a new workflow, and the learning and informational assets required to support that.")

Process Map of a "Should" State (gif)
As part of a TQM (Total Quality Management) team, I worked with key stakeholders in an Accounts Receivable department to solve problems that delayed fulfillment of payment. This solution was reached as a result of analyzing the current state of departmental processes, to identify gaps, inefficiencies and redundancies. |

Project plan for Interim Website (pdf)
Based on an initial proposal, this plan lays out goals, assumptions and constraints, workflow, schedule and team roles for an interim website redesign for a small non-profit. My primary roles were Project Manager and Information Architect, although I also developed and edited content, helped design the interface, and developed most of the interim site. |

| [P] Excerpt of Statement of Work
I was lead Business Analyst on this project for a health-care related company. The goal was to convert a competitive research publication from paper to electronic for enterprise-wide deployment over the intranet. The original impetus from the department focused on freeing up staff time. Through survey and major stakeholder interviews, I elicited a more compelling reason—to create an easily accessible, searchable electronic archive. |
