Information Design

My dual expertise in writing and graphic design means that I architect, design and develop communication materials with both textual and visual impact. I can start from scratch, create new structures and materials using existing content, develop content for existing structures, or do a complete overhaul. I synthesize architecture, writing, and visual elements, while focusing on audience, organizational goals, and quality, to meet and exceed customer expectations.

I specialize in finding ways to conceptualize complex processes and systems graphically for business and technology.

This brochure cover was part of an exhibit for an internal marketing event at Fidelity. The Total Quality Control department used the concept of "the Q files" (based on the X files) to communicate our role within the company. I designed and executed all the printed and exhibitory materials using Photoshop. [Note: Sample is dated; color scheme doesn not reflect visual or accessibility good practice]

thumbnail of a graphic depicting a concept in software configuration management from the student workbook for an Instructor-led course Conceptual graphic illustrating a software industry concept

This graphic is one of dozens I created for a software application training curriculum. I created the graphics standards and symbolic language, executed a symbolic library using Photoshop, and imported those elements into Illustrator where I combined them to form graphics. The graphics were used for both instructor-led and online courses, and were also the basis for Flash animations in the online courses.
